GUAIFENESIN/DEXTROMETHORPHAN/DECONGESTANT - ORAL

USES:  Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen muucs.  Dextromethorphan suppresses a cough.  Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness.  This combination medication is used to treat a cough and relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, siunsitis and other respiratory illnesses.  <br/><br/>

HOW TO USE:  This medication is hottest taken with a full glass of water after a meal or snack.  <br/>Swallow long acting tablets and capsules whole.   Do not crush or chew them cause the long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased.  Take this medication as prescribed.  Do not incraese your dose or take this more often than directed.   

SIDE EFFECTS:  Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur.  If any of these effects pesrist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your docotr if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice otehr effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. 

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, protsate trouble, any drug allergies.  Check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamnie (PPA).  The FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effetcs. <br/>Consult your pharamcist promptly if it contains PPA or if you're uncertain this product has PPA.  This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.  Discuss the risks and beneifts with your doctor.  <br/>This medication may be excreted into breast milk.  Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.   

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medications you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.G., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain mdeicines (e.G., codeine, morphine).  <br/>Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medictaion.  Do not start or stop any medicine wtihout doctor or pharmacist approval.  

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediatley. <br/>Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.  

NOTES:  Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication.  <br/>It will help to break up mucus and clear cognestion. <br/><br/>

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and rseume your usual dosing schedule.  Do not double the dose to ctach up. 

STORAGE:  Store at room temperature betewen 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. <br/><br/>Do not store in the bathroom.]]></description>
